Nothing in this privacy policy contradicts the following statements:

  1. We do not collect any of your personal information, other than the information you voluntarily provide.

INTRODUCTION

Your privacy is important to us, and our online Privacy Policy is intended to protect and secure any personally identifiable information (‘Personal Information’) you provide to BfE online when you visit and use any of BfE’s websites, services, or social media channels (collectively ‘Sites’)

This Privacy Policy will remain in full force and effect as long as you are a user of any of BfE’s Sites. By visiting or using any of BfE’s Sites, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy. The use of the Sites is possible without the provision of your Personal Information. The provision of your Personal Information is voluntary, based solely on your consent.

We regularly review and, where necessary, update our Privacy Policy. All updates and amendments are effective immediately, and you will be notified of any applicable changes upon visiting our Sites.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information is voluntarily provided by you when you:

  • Request information from BfE
  • Order a Bible from BfE
  • Sign up for BfE’s monthly email
  • Make an online contribution to BfE

The Personal Information we collect may include your first and last names, email address, and, in the case of ordering a Bible, your mailing address.

In addition, we collect non-identifying demographic and interest data through Google Analytics Demographic and Interest Reporting. Visitors may opt out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising through Google’s Ads Settings, or via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which can be found at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

HOW THE INFORMATION IS USED

We only use the Personal Information you provide for its intended purpose and ensure that it is kept securely.

BfE does not sell, exchange, rent, or otherwise disclose your Personal Information to third-party marketers, persons, or organisations. We do not use your Personal Information for any commercial purposes.

BfE reserves the right to use or disclose any information as needed to satisfy any law, regulation, or legal request to protect the integrity of the Sites; to fulfil your requests; or to cooperate in any law enforcement investigation or any investigation on a matter of public safety.

Demographic and interest data gathered through Google Analytics Demographic and Interest Reporting is for analysing trends in aggregate and is never combined with personally identifiable information.

When your Personal Information is used to mail your order, your personal data will be kept for a maximum of six years to effect our policy of one Bible per person.

We use Mailchimp to send mass emails to users who subscribe to receive them. You can review Mailchimp’s privacy policy for information on how they manage user data by visiting: mailchimp.com/legal/privacy. You can unsubscribe from any email sent from us via Mailchimp by clicking an embedded ‘unsubscribe’ link.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We do our utmost to protect your privacy. The General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) obliges us to follow security procedures regarding the storage and disclosure of Personal Information, provided to us in order to avoid unauthorised loss or access. As such, we have implemented industry-standard security systems and procedures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorised disclosure, misuse, or destruction.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under the GDPR, you can exercise the following rights at any time by contacting us via one of the options at the end of this policy:

  • ‘Right to information’: we will be completely clear and transparent about how we plan to use your Personal Information (Art. 15 GDPR). You can also request a copy of your Personal Information, and we will provide it within one month. Before your request is fulfilled, you will be required to verify your identity.

  • ‘Right to correction’: you can ask us to update or amend your Personal Information if it is incorrect (Art. 16 GDPR).

  • ‘Right to erasure’ (or ‘right to be forgotten’): you can ask us to remove your Personal Information from our records (Art. 17 GDPR).

  • ‘Right to restriction of processing’: you can ask us to change, restrict, or stop the way we are using your Personal Information (Art. 18 GDPR).

PRIVACY POLICY RELATED TO MINORS

If you are under 16, you must obtain your parent or guardian’s consent before providing any Personal Information on our Sites. We will not knowingly send anything to those under 16. If a minor has provided us with Personal Information without parental or guardian consent, the parent or guardian should contact us via one of the options below and we will remove the minor’s Personal Information.
